Its amazing what I get involved with and the wonderful people that come to my rescue when I ask for help to help my friends.

I had this strange plead from The Mavis Nye Foundation’s MesoUK Nurse.

Hi Mavis hope you and Ray are well? This may be a strange request but the red tape in the NHS is a mine field. Just wondered if you know any solicitors that could donate office chairs to the cancer CNS offices. A few years ago Leigh Day said if there was any thing we needed and at time when we couldn’t get pens and diaries and they got them for us.

We have been trying for over two years to get new office chairs which are ripped and falling apart. There are 10 CNS nurses at Canterbury in all different tumour groups. Margate CNS team in same position but don’t want to be greedy and ask for both. The trust are up dating our computers so we can do video calls but budget doesn’t include chairs! So just enquiring if this is something they could help with. We have tried to apply for charitable funds in the trust and haven’t got very far. So need someone to donate them. Apparently they have to be adjustable and ideally needs to be wipe able but not essential due ton infection risk

Well I said of coarse so give me time to have a chat with people.

I sat for a minute and thought of asking for donations of money to buy some but then I asked Royds Withy King in an email was it possible they had any chairs spare anywhere. My thinking was that with everyone working at home in the Pandemic there must be chairs going spare in offices in London.

Then Toni added — apparently we need 30 sorry there are 12 Canterbury 12 margate and the mdm office so 30 in total.

Well I had a lovely email from Helen Childs that they did infact have chairs in storage from when they bought new ones.

I was over the moon that that this was going to be possible to supply to Kent and Canterbury Hospital what they desperately needed and just goes to show if you ask there is always an answer.

Today I have received this Photo and Im over the moon to have been able to help and thank the Royds Withy King Team for helping us out it really is appreciated by all of us in Kent.
